The Lady In My Life

I have found a lady
she fills my heart with sunshine
she makes me greater than I am
and more than I deserve

I believe this one was sent to me
to show me how close two can be
It hurts so bad when she's not here
I never want to leave

I would offer my heart to this lady
open and quite free
if only she will let me see
the way she feels for me

I want so much to hold her
and have her here with me
the emptiness inside me
just grows while she's away

A chance encounter happens
only once for each of us I think
and I can't bear the thought
that I might miss my turn

She is a lady to me
a very special jewel
someone that helps spread sunshine
where once there  was just gloom

So let me tell this lady
in no uncertain terms
I want her to be my lady
for all eternity
